Essence:
Black Sea lye (also known as “Pomorie lye”, “mother lye”, “natural lye” or “medicinal lye”) is a natural product obtained during salt production at the Burgas and Pomorie salt lakes, with a many times higher concentration of all the beneficial elements of sea and lake water. In recent years it has been extracted only in the Burgas salt pans. After the water in the salt pans evaporates and the salt crystallises, the lye remains on the surface of the salt layer as a thick, cloudy, oil-like liquid with a yellow-brown colour and a reddish tint.
The unique beneficial properties of Black Sea lye are due to its rich mineral and organic composition; in terms of biologically active substances it significantly surpasses sea water. Its composition is close to that of mud solution, which is why it has an effect similar to the healing liman mud extracted from these lakes.
Properties:
- has a strong anti-inflammatory and antibacterial action
- has a toning and relaxing effect on the whole body
- relieves tiredness and heaviness in the limbs
- nourishes and rejuvenates the skin and slows down its ageing
- mineralises the body and stimulates the natural defence responses of the immune system
The beneficial effect of Black Sea lye has been proven in many health conditions:
- problems and injuries of the musculoskeletal system, rheumatic and neurological problems – arthritis, arthrosis, neuritis, ankylosing spondylitis, inflammation of the periarticular tissues, sprains, joint dislocations, fractures, neuralgia, plexitis, discopathy and others
- muscle pain, cramps
- skin problems – psoriasis, acne, fungal infections, open wounds and others
- colds and inflammation of the upper respiratory tract
- inflammation in the oral cavity – periodontitis, mouth ulcers, gingivitis and others. It reduces gum swelling, normalises the acid-alkaline balance in the mouth, helps maintain the normal oral microflora, strengthens tooth enamel and significantly reduces the likelihood of tooth decay.

Hello, for gargling you can dilute the lye with warm water in a ratio of 1:1 to 1:10 depending on your tolerance. It is best to try 1:5 and then decide whether to increase or reduce the concentration. Happy holidays! 🙂

I have been using the product for 1 year. I buy small packages because they are more practical for use at home. I use it for: 1. The face with a konjac sponge in the morning. It softens the skin and freshens the complexion. I leave it on for 5 minutes and rinse with water. 2. In the evening after a shower I apply it on wet skin over the whole body and leave it for 30 minutes. Then I rinse with water. It softens the skin and takes away fatigue. 3. On wet hair after shampoo. I rinse with water only. The hair becomes wonderful – full but alive. It is not good to use on dyed hair, because it fades it slightly. That is why I use it in the week before dyeing. This is a multifunctional natural product with many benefits. I would like masks with mud to be created as well, if possible.
