Intended use:

For cosmetic treatments. Removes dead cells from the surface layer of the skin. Hydrates and cleanses the skin and improves its elasticity. The trace elements and minerals penetrate the skin and have a refreshing, relaxing and toning effect on the entire body. Suitable for SPA, wellness, balneological, physiotherapy and fitness centres, saunas and home use.

Directions for use:

• Bath – pour 500–2000 ml of the solution into 60–80 l of water at a temperature of around 38 degrees Celsius. The treatment lasts around 15–30 minutes, after which the body is rinsed thoroughly with water.
• Local baths – pour 150–200 ml into water in a suitable container so that it covers the ankles. Baths can also be made with undiluted lye alone. The treatment lasts 20–30 minutes and is particularly suitable for rheumatic pain in the ankles, as well as for nail fungus.
• Body rubs – rubbing the body with lye using a sponge. The body is rubbed with a sponge or cotton cloth soaked in lye. The concentration depends on the sensitivity of the skin, with a maximum ratio of 1:5 (lye:water). After 15–20 minutes, the body is rinsed thoroughly with water without using soap or shower gel.
• Compresses – for aching joints, apply compresses with lye warmed to 38–40 degrees in a water bath (for people with high blood pressure the lye is not warmed). Soak a cotton cloth or towel in the lye, wrap the problem area twice, cover with plastic film or cling film and wrap in a bath towel. Keep the compress on for 20–40 minutes, once or twice a day. Recommended course: 12–14 treatments. Attention: In cases of varicose veins, use compresses with unwarmed lye.

Black Sea lye (also known as “Pomorie lye”, “mother lye”, “natural lye” or “medicinal lye”) is a natural product obtained during salt production in the Burgas and Pomorie salt lakes, containing many times the concentration of all the beneficial elements found in sea and lake water. In recent years it has been extracted only in the Burgas salt pans. As the water evaporates from the salt pan, the lye remains above the salt layer as a cloudy, thick, oil-like liquid with a yellow-brown colour and a reddish tint, and sometimes a pungent smell. According to numerous studies carried out over the years by scientists at ISUL and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, it has anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving and antiseptic effects. In terms of qualities it is identical to the healing liman mud. It is used for therapeutic and restorative, rehabilitation and treatment procedures thanks to its content of minerals that are extremely valuable for the human body, with magnesium being predominant. Applied to the skin, Black Sea lye supplies the body with magnesium and a range of other valuable minerals and substances, having a beneficial effect on the muscular, joint and bone structure.
