ROSE WATER IS SUITABLE FOR EVERY SKIN TYPE
For radiant, youthful skin, Bulgarian women have long trusted the miraculous properties of rose water. It cleanses, refreshes and perfumes the skin of the face. Rose water has a toning, softening and moisturising action. It soothes irritation and helps to reduce puffiness of the skin. Women also love rose water for the fact that it successfully combats wrinkles. Rose water has an antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and calming effect, which makes it useful for a range of skin problems — acne, eczema, burns, insect bites and other allergic skin conditions.
Rose water is best spritzed onto the skin or gently worked in with a cotton pad. Repeat this routine morning and evening on a cleansed face to feel the rejuvenating properties of rose water. And one little tip — once you have applied it to your face, wait 2-3 minutes and let it absorb into the skin on its own. This is how rose water is best taken up by the body.
Aromatherapy with rose water
Once you fall for the delicate scent of rose, you will not want to limit its use to your skin alone. Rose water and rose oil are also being used more and more often in aromatherapy. Aromatherapist Elaine Zimmerman recommends the scent of rose for anyone feeling stressed and run down. If you have trouble sleeping, spray a little rose water into the air in your bedroom or onto your pillow. You can also use a scented herbal pillow containing rose petals, mint leaves and lavender flowers.
