Pomorie Mud
Pomorie liman mud is the black sediment of the Pomorie salt lake — a lagoon separated from the Black Sea by a narrow sandy spit. It forms slowly, from the decomposition of marine organisms and from the salts of the lake, and is rich in minerals and trace elements. Mud therapy has been practised in Pomorie for decades and is the reason the town is known as a balneological resort.
Here are the products that contain the mud. The ANCHIALO Body Mask with Black Sea Lye and Liman Mud, 500 g is the closest thing to the classic treatment you can do at home — apply it to clean skin, leave it to work and rinse off thoroughly with water. The AZIMUTH Natural Soap with Black Sea Liman Mud, 100 g has an exfoliating effect thanks to the grainy texture of the mud.
Not recommended on damaged skin or open wounds.
If you are looking for the products made with the lye from the same lake, see Pomorie lye.
