Mud therapy<\/span><\/h2>\n

The beneficial properties of liman mud have been known since ancient times. Ancient civilisations such as Egypt, Rome, Greece and India used mud to relieve various kinds of health problems. Mud has a complex physical and chemical composition. Combined with its electro-thermal properties, it has a positive effect on health.<\/p>\n

The liman mud in the town of Pomorie is extracted from Pomorie Lake, which was formed after a catastrophic earthquake in 740 BC. The mud in Pomorie Lake is thick and black in colour. It has formed over millennia, with a specific chemical composition and a high content of sulphur and iron. Pomorie mud is unique and differs significantly from other liman mud deposits around the world.<\/p>\n

The origins of mud therapy in Pomorie<\/h2>\n

Pomorie liman mud was rediscovered by Dr Petar Stoyanov in 1905. Over several years he studied its beneficial properties. A mud therapy centre was subsequently built and the town of Pomorie established itself as a national seaside mud therapy resort.<\/p>\n

What does it help with?<\/h2>\n

Today, treatments with Pomorie liman mud are practised in two main forms \u2013 mud therapy and lye therapy. Extracting the mud and the lye requires specialised equipment and processing technology. Applying them sometimes calls for special apparatus, depending on the procedure.<\/p>\n

Mud therapy is used for<\/strong><\/h2>\n
    \n
  • problems of the musculoskeletal system \u2013 all arthritic conditions, lower back pain, osteochondrosis (bone spurs).<\/li>\n
  • problems of the peripheral and central nervous system \u2013 disc disorders, plexitis, periarthritis.<\/li>\n
  • skin problems \u2013 eczema, skin ulcers, scleroderma and psoriasis.<\/li>\n
  • problems of the female and male reproductive systems \u2013 gynaecological conditions and infertility<\/li>\n
  • problems of the respiratory system \u2013 bronchitis, sinusitis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Lye therapy is also used for problems of the musculoskeletal system, the upper respiratory tract, the female reproductive organs, the kidneys, the urinary tract and more. Mud and lye treatments have been shown to boost immunity, stimulate the reproductive system and support many other functions of the human body. The anti-inflammatory, vasodilating, antibiotic and muscle-relaxing action of Pomorie lye and liman mud has been proven.<\/p>\n

    Methods of mud therapy<\/h2>\n

    Pomorie mud is applied in the form of mud applications<\/strong> and mud baths<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    The mud application<\/h4>\n

    Applications are made to the whole body or to a specific area. They are carried out on a special trough-shaped couch lined with plastic sheeting and a canvas sheet. Warmed mud is placed on it and the body is coated with a layer 1\u20132 cm thick, after which it is wrapped up warmly. Once the treatment is complete, the body is rinsed under a shower and should not be bathed again for at least two hours.<\/p>\n

      Mud baths<\/h4>\n

      This is a widely practised method. It is carried out in a bath filled with liman mud diluted with sea water and Black Sea lye. The skin absorbs more of the soluble chemical substances from the dissolved mud than it does with the mud application method.<\/p>\n

        The ANCHIALO body mask contains all the components, minerals and microflora of Black Sea lye and Black Sea liman mud. The product is a blend of Black Sea liman mud and stabilised Black Sea lye. The mud is filtered and cleared of impurities so that you can enjoy its proven benefits for the body and skin in the safest possible way.<\/p>\n

        Intended use:<\/strong> A body mask suitable for every skin type. Penetrating the skin, the trace elements and minerals have a refreshing, toning and moisturising effect on the areas of the body where the mask is applied. It is not recommended for the face, as it dries the skin. If you nevertheless decide to apply it to the face, please do not use a large amount and do not leave it on for a long time.<\/p>\n

        Directions for use:<\/strong> Place the sachet \/without opening it\/ in water pre-heated to 38 – 40 degrees Celsius for about 5 minutes. Open the sachet at the marked point. Apply part of the mask to the body in a thick layer with your hand or a brush. For a better effect<\/strong> wrap in cling film and cover with a towel, then, after about 30-40 minutes, rinse off with clean water without using soap or shower gel. Apply 1-2 times a day. A course of 12-14 treatments is recommended.<\/p>\n

        Storage:<\/strong> At a temperature between 5 and 20 degrees Celsius<\/p>\n

        Caution:<\/strong> Avoid contact with the eyes. Keep out of the reach of children. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water! Carry out a sensitivity test before use! In case of rash or redness – discontinue use of the product! The product contains Black Sea lye, which is why it is not recommended for facial treatment.<\/p>\n
