The aim is to remove dead skin from the areas being treated, so that the active ingredients can penetrate more easily during the following stages.<\/p>\n<h2>Stage 1. Firming body mask<\/h2>\n<p>After the massage, the fatty deposits have been broken down and have released fluid that now needs to be drawn out through the skin. This is the purpose of the <strong>firming body mask<\/strong> \u2014 a blend of French dental plaster and several types of silicone. The plaster is mixed with water beforehand to form a paste, and the mask is applied by hand or with a brush. There are two methods.<\/p>\n<h3>Recommended (professional) method<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Spread out a sheet of plastic film large enough to wrap around the area being treated.<\/li>\n<li>Apply the mask onto it in a layer of <strong>3\u20134 mm<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Place a cloth on top \u2014 ideally non-woven fabric (TNT, 70 g\/m\u00b2), soaked in water and wrung out well, so it is only slightly damp.<\/li>\n<li>Wrap the &#8220;sandwich&#8221; around the treated area like a compress \u2014 the plastic film on the outside, the cloth between the mask and the skin.<\/li>\n<li>After <strong>20\u201330 minutes<\/strong>, or once the mask has set, remove everything and dispose of it \u2014 it cannot be reused.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Easier, but non-professional method<\/h3>\n<p>The mask is applied directly to the skin (or onto the plastic film) in a 3\u20134 mm layer, the area is wrapped in plastic film and left for 20\u201330 minutes until the mask sets. The film and the mask are then removed.
