With Black Sea lye<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

The lye is heated, always in a water bath, to a temperature of around 38-40 \u00b0C. A cotton cloth is soaked in the warmed lye, after which the problem joint is wrapped twice, or the compress is placed along the course of the affected nerve. The area is then covered with plastic film and, on top, with a towel or woollen cloth to retain the heat. It is left on for anything from 15 minutes to several hours. For a good effect, a course of 12 \u2013 14 treatments is recommended.<\/p>\n

Compresses with unheated lye (cold compress) may also be applied if the individual cannot tolerate a warm compress or suffers from varicose veins.<\/p>\n

Lye applicator (wet cloth)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Place the sachet in a container of warm water (38-40 \u00b0C) for 3-5 minutes. Take out the warmed* cloth and place it along the course of the affected nerve or wrap it around the problem joint, cover it with plastic film (or cling film) and wrap with a towel or woollen cloth. In the case of varicose veins, apply a cold compress. Duration of the treatment \u2013 from 15 minutes to several hours.<\/p>\n
